The Venini glassware was founded in 1921 when with the help of the Venetian antiquarian Giacomo Cappellin, lawyer Paolo Venini of Milan and the painter Vittorio Zecchin give birth to the "Cappellin Venini & C.". Since the early 30's until the late 50's the glassware will see the successful production of innovative objects thanks to many collaborations with artists of the 900's initially the same Paolo Venini and Vittorio Zecchin and then Tomaso Buzzi, Carlo Scarpa, Lancia, Pulitzer and, after the war, Gio Ponti and Fulvio Bianconi. In the late 50's Paolo Venini died leaving in inheritance the artistic direction to the architect Ludovico Diaz de Santillana who knew how to capture the spirit of research and creativity contributing with his work to bring back Venini at the Venice Biennale in the early 90's.
